These ratings are the most significant for (very) close friendships and family relations, long-term romantic relationships, and the like. Less favourable matches may be interesting and acceptable enough in rather impersonal, professional/business situations. At last, factors outside of Socionics (such as shared values and interests) can make two people more or less compatible despite their intertype relation.
For a long-term romantic relationship, at least ★★★ stars are recommended.
Ideally, for the fastest growth and greatest personal fulfillment, you focus on relations that are at least ★★★★ stars.
Here are examples of different intertype relation couples.
With matching* subtypes:
*”Matching subtypes” implies the following combos: Ni-Se, Ni-Ni, Se-Se, Ne-Si, Ne-Ne, Si-Si, Fi-Te, Fi-Fi, Te-Te, Fe-Ti, Fe-Fe, Ti-Ti.
“Mis-matching subtypes” are any combinations that are not mentioned above.
With mis-matching subtypes:
Use this calculator for the most accurate result. If you are a strong subtype, pick 2 (not 3 because that one is unrealistic). If you are a moderate/average subtype, pick 1. If you have no subtype, pick 0. “Good” at 66% is the equivalent to 3 stars. “Excellent” is 4 stars and above. Matches below 66% are not recommended.

Hi. Very good analisys. I agree with this. I am an infj 9w1 Sx/Sp and in my life always ISTP and INFJ were the best matches. And rare combinations of ENFJ, ESFP-Se and INTJ-Ni too. But nothing with other types. Only 1 exception: one ex-girfriend that was an ISFP-Se that resembles ISTP. I sensed an “activity” relationship in the begining with her. And she too with me (because INFJ-Ni resembles INTJ, the “activity” pair of ISFP). But after some months, when she saw me like an INFJ and I her like an ISFP was a sensation like an “illusion over”. And one saw the other like a “benefactor” relationship (the true with an ISFP-INFJ pair). This could be possible with subtypes? The sensation of “activity” pair in the beggining because of subtypes but after some time of relationship the “illusion over” sensation and one seeing the other like the real type?
