These ratings are the most significant for (very) close friendships, long-term romantic relationships, and the like. Less favourable matches may be interesting and acceptable enough in rather impersonal, professional/business situations. At last, factors outside of Socionics (such as shared values and interests) can make two people more or less compatible despite their intertype relation.
For a long-term romantic relationship, at least ★★★ stars are recommended.

“Matching subtypes” implies the following combos: Ni-Se, Ni-Ni, Se-Se, Ne-Si, Ne-Ne, Si-Si, Fi-Te, Fi-Fi, Te-Te, Fe-Ti, Fe-Fe, Ti-Ti.
“Mis-matching subtypes” are any combinations that are not mentioned above.
